• Priddy Ugly says some podcasters comment on hip hop without listening properly, which leads to uninformed views and unfair criticism of artists.

• He supports podcasts as platforms for young voices but urges honesty and research when discussing musicians who have built careers in the industry.

South African rapper Priddy Ugly says many people who speak on podcasts do not understand hip hop.

He says this affects how artists are discussed and judged. Some hosts share strong opinions without doing enough research.

Priddy Ugly says he enjoys podcasts and listens to many shows. He believes they are powerful platforms that shape conversations in music.

But he says there is a problem when people speak about hip hop without real knowledge. He says some commentators do not even listen to the genre.

He compared them to experienced broadcasters like Scoop Makhathini, Sizwe Dhlomo and DJ Fresh. He says these figures understand the culture because of years in the industry.

Priddy Ugly says when people lack knowledge, their views can be unfair to artists. He says musicians spend years building their craft and deserve informed discussion.

He also says podcasters must prepare before speaking. This includes learning about artists and their work.

At the same time, he says he supports podcast culture. He believes it gives young creatives a voice and allows freedom of speech.

He says honesty is important. If a host does not know an artist, they should say so.

Priddy Ugly says having a platform comes with responsibility. He says people must use it wisely.
