In-car-cerated! Cop nabbed for swiping car parts

Temba police officer caught stealing car parts from his own police station? That’s right.

Sergeant Francis Mulaudzi was caught red-handed stripping car parts from a vehicle kept at the police station, and yet he managed to walk out of court a free man without having to answer to any charges.

How did he get so lucky? It’s a mystery even the police can’t solve.

Temba police spokesperson Sergeant Herman Moremi said Mulaudzi was transported to court on Wednesday morning to face charges of theft from a motor vehicle.

But when he arrived at court, the officers were told that his case was not on the court roll and he was set free! A lucky break indeed.

“At the moment we don’t have the conditions as to why the case was not placed on the court roll as yet. Police investigations are still underway,” Moremi said.

There’s more! It turns out that the car in question was parked at the Temba Police Station after it was involved in an accident recently.

And Mulaudzi assigned his personal motor mechanic to strip some parts from the car.

Gauteng police spokesperson Lieutenant Colonel Mavela Masonto told Scrolla.Africa that the motor mechanic was found by the police, still busy under the car.

When questioned about his actions, the mechanic told the police that he was assigned by Mulaudzi to remove some parts from the car.

He even claimed that he was not aware that he was stealing the parts and believed the car belonged to Mulaudzi.

Now that’s what we call a clever cover-up! But unfortunately for Mulaudzi, the police saw right through his scheme and arrested him on the spot.
