US – A federal judge has ruled that a woman accusing Sean “Diddy” Combs of sexual assault cannot proceed anonymously. The judge said Combs had the right to defend himself, and the public had a right to transparency in the case. The woman, who filed as Jane Doe, alleges Combs raped her in 2004 when she was 19. Her attorneys argued for anonymity due to fears of physical harm from Combs, but Judge Mary Kay Vyskocil noted Combs has had no contact with her for 20 years and is currently behind bars. She ordered the woman to refile under her real name by November 13 or face dismissal of her case.

Morocco – During a state visit to Rabat, President Emmanuel Macron stressed France and Morocco’s commitment to combating organised crime, drug trafficking, and illegal immigration through mutual trust and regulatory respect. Migration has strained relations between the two countries, with France reducing Moroccan visa approvals in 2021-22 to push for Morocco’s acceptance of deported nationals, sparking diplomatic tensions. Recent discussions focused on expediting the return of undocumented Moroccans to facilitate this process. Macron also highlighted the need to balance border control while encouraging cultural and other exchanges between the two countries.
