Close friend of the late Senzo Meyiwa and witness Tumelo Madlala pointed out accused number two as the man who tussled with Senzo on the night he was murdered.
On Thursday Madlala pointed out the second accused Bongani Ntanzi claiming that he was an intruder in the house.
The witness said accused Ntanzi entered Kelly Khumalo’s mother’s house in Vosloorus, demanding cash and cell phones before pinning Meyiwa against the wall.
The witness Madlala previously said he was not in the room when Meyiwa was shot and therefore could not identify the killer.
Madlala told the court he recognised the man.
“In my pre-trial witness statement I explained if I were to see the person, I would be able to point the person out. What I am doing, I am doing for Senzo,” said Madlala.
“I am here talking about something I know happened in my presence. If you had seen someone before, it won’t be difficult to recognise the person again. And I wouldn’t lie in a matter like this.”
Ntanzi is from Rustenberg in the North West and was employed at Sibanye Gold.
The other accused are Muzikawukhulelwa Sibiya, Mthobisi Prince Mncube, Mthokoziseni Maphisa and Sifisokuhle Nkani Ntuli.
They face charges of premeditated murder, attempted murder, robbery with aggravated circumstances, possession of firearms without a licence and possession of ammunition. They have all pleaded not guilty.
