United late, but great!

By Razeen Gutta

Just when it seemed as though the Red Devils would suffer yet another defeat, the unlikeliest of heroes serenaded the Stretford End!

A first-half Mathias Jensen goal left visitors Brentford in the driving seat for much of the game.

But when substitute Scott McTominay came on with three minutes of normal time to play, United were steered towards the most incredible of comebacks.

It was just the result they needed, with McTominay scoring twice in stoppage time to give the Old Trafford faithful all the momentum they needed to kick-start what has been a dismal start to the campaign.

An assist for outcast Harry Maguire will be a welcome one for the England centre-half, too, as he started for the first time in the Premier League this season.

In other goal-rush results, Chelsea went from a goal down to beat Burnley 4-1 at Turf Moore while Everton defeated Bournemouth 3-0 and Fulham was 3-1 victors at home to Sheffield United.

In the earlier action, ten-man Tottenham Hotspur prevailed 1-0 at Luton Town courtesy of a first club goal for Micky Van de Ven.

In the late game Crystal Palace host Nottingham Forest before a four-game Sunday headlined by Arsenal up against Manchester City at the Emirates.
