President Donald Trump went to an underground bunker at the weekend as protests raged in Washington DC and across the United States.
According to reports in the Washington Post, Secret Service agents took him there as protests erupted near the White House.
More than 4000 people have been arrested over the weekend, and there are curfews across the country.
Some policemen have knelt with protestors to show sympathy. The protests were triggered by the death at the hands of police of George Floyd, an unarmed black man. The protests then spread, focused on police brutality against black men, and sometimes fanned by white activists aligned to Trump’s supporter base.
