Replacing the W205 C-Class that has been around since 2014, the new W206 takes a lot from the bigger S-Class luxury car.
With similar styling and features, the new C-Class is set to strengthen its position as Mercedes-Benz’s best selling model, and enhance its reputation as still the benchmark for its category.
Like the S-Class, the driver and passenger area is more digital than ever. The display covers almost the entire centre console with a digital instrument panel and updated driver assistance technologies and semi-automated driving.
The cars will offer either rear-wheel or all-wheel drive and the transmission is a mixture of automated and manual although it is completely electric.
According to the manufacturers’ documentation, the Mercedes-Benz is setting off into a more efficient and even more digital world, creating an all-round, future-proof comfort zone.
“It offers sportiness and comfort with efficiency, emotion, and intelligence, thus defining modern luxury,” says the media information.
The vehicle will be produced locally by Mercedes-Benz SA following the recent R10 billion investment in the factory in East London.
