There were more horror revelations when the man dubbed “The beast of Tembisa” stood trial for the second day at the Johannesburg High Court on Tuesday.
One of his victims is a teenage girl.
She told the court how she was stabbed and raped by the man in Ivory Park – on 27 September 2015 – when she was just 15-years-old.
The brave-looking girl didn’t mince her words in detailing what happened on the night of the horror.
She told the court that she was on her way home when accused Gift Mkhwanazi approached her.
“He stopped me while pointing a knife at me. I tried to run away from him but he stabbed me several times,” she recalled.
The teen said Mkhwanazi demanded all her belongings – which were money, a cellphone, face cream, sunglasses and her gold necklace.
After taking everything from her, she said Mkhwanazi forced her to follow him into the open veld. He then raped her while still threatening her with a knife.
The teenager was not the only person who testified against Mkhwanazi.
Two other young women told similar stories of how they were attacked and raped by the same man.
The women who testified on Monday told the court that Mkhwanazi took their belongings before raping both of them at gunpoint.
The trial will continue on Wednesday.
