Famous actress and media personality, Simphiwe Ngema, has finally revealed the true reason why she visited Thabo Bester in prison.
Bester, a convicted rapist and murderer, had duped Ngema and other public figures by portraying himself as “TK Motsepe” and that he was organising events.
Ngema spoke out on social media, explaining her side of the story and why she visited Bester in prison in April 2018.
“He seemed well-connected and he was able to organise meetings and big events which I and many other public figures were booked for,” Ngema claimed in her now deleted statement.
“Till this day I was never paid for some of the events.”
Ngema, who said she had no knowledge of Bester’s criminal background, claimed that she went to the prison only once to demand answers and has supporting documents to prove it. However, this difficult time in her life has caused quite a stir in the media.
“I’ve been extremely open about everything to those that have been investigating and I have nothing to hide,” Ngema declared.
“I did not go there on a regular basis nor was I the last person to visit him before his escape.”
The scandalous revelation has sent shockwaves through the entertainment industry with many people questioning how Bester was able to deceive so many high-profile individuals for such a long time.
Bester, who was serving a 20-year sentence for rape and robbery, made a daring escape from prison in 2020 and was recently caught in Tanzania.
