Mpho Chauke, the mother of rising Limpopo artist Shebeshxt, is devastated by the death of her granddaughter in a car accident on Saturday night.
Shebeshxt, real name Lehlogonolo Chauke, his nine-year-old daughter, Onthatile, his girlfriend, and another passenger were in the singer’s Volkswagen Polo when it collided with a truck on the R37 near Smelters Mine in Limpopo.
Onthatile died shortly after the crash, which happened at around 10pm.
Shebeshxt has a broken leg, an abdominal fracture, and head injuries and is receiving treatment and undergoing tests.
The controversial artist shared a post confirming that his daughter has passed away.
“My life will never be the same without your presence,” he said.
In an interview with Sunday World, Mpho Chauke revealed that Shebeshxt was travelling from Polokwane to Lebowakgomo to drop off his daughter and her mother before heading to an ANC Siyanqoba rally celebration concert in Lebowakgomo where he was to perform.
