Amapiano artists are reportedly having the time of their life in Mzansi, so much so that other artists from other genres have also jumped on the new piano wave.
This comes after the Amapiano music genre has smothered many other South African music genres in the past few months. They have been topping charts every week, taking over the radio and television slots and gigs.
But over the past weekend SA Hip Hop artists proved they are not going to take the Amapiano takeover lying down.
ATM rapper Emtee, released the music video for “Johustleburg”, a single from his last album called “Logan”, proving he is still relevant even after leaving Ambitiouz Records to operate in his own stable.
The hot new kid on the block, 25K, has come in with stunning visuals for “Hustler’s Prayer” featuring Pretoria’s A-Reece. 25K had just released a 45 minute documentary about the making of his album “Pheli Makaveli” and his upbringing in July 2021.
Both music videos were released on Friday, but after five days “Johustleburg” from Emtee is sitting at 91,000 views on YouTube while Motswako’s “Hustler’s Prayer” is close to doubling the numbers, sitting comfortably at over 156k views on the same platform.
Cassper Nyovest made history by filling up both the TicketPro Dome and the FNB Stadium in the past years – by releasing a 10-track Amapiano album titled Sweet and Short 2.0 on 30 June.
The new kids on the block are still keeping the SA Hip Hop fans entertained by delivering quality music videos.
