PICK OF THE SPORTS: The Springboks are thirsting for revenge

The Springboks were not at their best in their last fixture against the Wallabies, but the South African rugby team will be hoping to prove they have what it takes to take down Quade Cooper and his teammates.

Despite a poor performance in their last outing, the Springboks nearly pulled off a miracle when they found themselves in the lead with just five minutes to go, but an 80th minute penalty from Cooper meant South Africa were defeated 28-26.

Poor discipline and some roughness around the edges meant it was not the performance the World Cup champions usually deliver. It was the team’s first loss since they went down to the British and Irish Lions in the first test earlier this year.

Perhaps Jacques Nienaber and his team showed the very best of the Wallabies while the Boks were the worst they’ve been for a long time – and certainly Handre Pollard had one of the worst days of his career. The Boks dropped ten points from kickable positions but on another day it could have been their victory despite their poor performance.

The two teams will go head-to-head once again on Saturday with kickoff set for 9am. The match can be watched live on DStv channel 201.

DStv Premiership action will once again light up our screens as the chasers look to keep the pressure on Mamelodi Sundowns.

Soweto giants Orlando Pirates and Kaizer Chiefs will be hoping for maximum points this weekend as both teams have won only one of their first three fixtures this season.

Pirates will take on Chippa United in Saturday’s first match with Chiefs ending the day’s action against Royal AM.

Table toppers and league favourites Sundowns will host TS Galaxy in what should be smooth sailing for the Brazilians, but a young, talented Galaxy side could spring a few surprises for the coaching trio at Sundowns.

All the PSL action can be watched live on DStv channel 202.

In what is already shaping up to be a fascinating season of English football, the top four teams will be hoping to keep their momentum going this weekend.

The Premier League will once again offer a mammoth clash this weekend in the game of the weekend between Tottenham and Chelsea – a London derby that is always hotly contested. With both teams in good form, this game is one you do not want to miss.

The Premier League action will be broadcasted live on DStv channel 203.
