PASTOR’S LAST AMEN

By Everson Luhanga

An unusual prayer was added to a church service on Sunday when two policemen arrived to arrest the Pastor.

The stunned congregation in the African Gospel Church in Alberton watched while the pastor was told he was being arrested for contravening the Disaster Management Act regulations.

But before the lockdown arrest happened, the pastor asked if he could pray for the two police officers who came to arrest him.

The Sergeant, in the video below, then joined the pastor in saying his own prayers too.

National police spokesperson Brigadier Vishnu Naidoo said a tip off from the community members led to the officers visiting the church service in Phumulani section in Alberton, Gauteng.

Naidoo said the arresting officer joined the pastor in saying his prayers before escorting the man of God into the back of the police van.

“The pastor was taken to the police station where a docket was opened.”

The pastor was charged with contravening the Disaster Management Act regulations. He was later released and is due to appear in court in Germiston on 3 July 2020.
