No love lost between Rashford and Ten Hag

Manchester United staff are reportedly concerned that manager Erik Ten Hag’s relationship with star man Marcus Rashford is beyond repair.

Following a “12-hour tequila bender” in Belfast last month, the England international was fined two weeks’ wages and dropped from the squad.

Rashford called in sick and skipped training on 26 January, just two days before United’s FA Cup tie against Newport County.

News later emerged that he was not sick, but instead out on a tequila session in Northern Ireland. He was left out of the squad for the Newport game.

Now, despite his reintegration into the team, a report in The Sun has stated that the player and manager are barely on speaking terms.

Ten Hag is said to feel betrayed by Rashford’s actions, which also included attempts to deceive him by claiming the incident had happened on a different day.

Club staff are reportedly concerned that the relationship between player and manager has “broken down irrevocably”, with Rashford struggling to reach the form that saw him score 30 goals last season.

He has scored just five goals so far this season, with the Red Devils eight points behind Aston Villa in the race for a top-four spot.
