Rashford visits nightclub while ‘sick’

Manchester United boss Erik ten Hag said he will deal with the Marcus Rashford saga after the forward was seen in a nightclub despite missing training because he felt “ill”.

Rashford didn’t take part in training on Friday after allegations of him being seen at a nightclub in Belfast went viral on social media.

The 26-year-old England striker reportedly visited Thompson Garage nightclub on Thursday before returning to England on a private jet the next morning.

He had initially travelled to Northern Ireland to meet a former teammate.

Manchester United, in a statement, mentioned that Rashford stayed at Carrington for training as he was recovering.

Ten Hag, addressing the media after their FA Cup victory on Sunday, stated that Rashford’s situation is an internal matter and that he would handle it personally, The Guardian reported.

In the past, Ten Hag has shared his disappointment over Rashford’s decisions, more recently after a nightclub visit following a Manchester derby defeat.

Rashford had apologised for this incident.

Ten Hag, since taking charge at Manchester United, has been dealing with what he described as a “no-good culture” and has taken decisive actions regarding players like Jadon Sancho and Anthony Martial based on their training performances.

In the match against Newport County, despite an initial lead by United, Newport managed to equalise.

However, United secured the win with goals from Antony and Rasmus Højlund in the second half to win 4-2.
