A parent in Utah in America is working to have the Holy Bible banned in schools due to its “sex-ridden” content.
A law was recently passed in the state which makes the process of banning books in schools a lot easier – much to the delight of a subversive parent who is working to get the Bible removed from schools.
“Now we can all ban books and you don’t even need to read them or be accurate about it,” this sarcastic parent wrote in a complaint to Davis High School last December.
“Heck, you don’t even need to see the book!”
Utah Parents United, a conservative parents’ group that pushes for book bans in schools, requested that several books be removed from the syllabus for the academic year.
But that parent felt they ignored banning the Bible from schools.
“I noticed there’s a gap, though,” the parent said in the complaint, Insider reported.
“Utah Parents United left off one of the most sex-ridden books around: The Bible. Incest, onanism, bestiality, prostitution, genital mutilation, fellatio, dildos, rape, and even infanticide.”
State Representative Ken Ivory, who sponsored the bill, told The Tribune that the request to ban the Bible from Davis High School was “antics that drain school resources”.
The parent added in the complaint: “Get this porn out of our schools! If the books that have been banned so far are any indication for way lesser offences, this should be a slam dunk.”
