- The robbers loaded up booze, bread and milk before wheeling it all into the darkness.
- They also stole a worker’s phone and cash while they were still half asleep.
Four armed men broke into a tuckshop in Hazelmere, KwaZulu-Natal, and helped themselves to whatever they wanted, including alcohol, groceries and cash.
But instead of using a getaway car, they piled it all into a wheelbarrow and wheeled off into the night.
Reaction Unit South Africa (RUSA) said the robbers smashed through the security gate and door during the early hours of Tuesday.
A woman who was sleeping inside the shop was woken up at gunpoint. The gang took her Samsung A03 cellphone and some cash.
Then, without breaking a sweat, they loaded bread, milk, eggs and booze into the barrow.
RUSA officers were called and searched the area, but came up empty-handed. The robbers had already disappeared with the wheelbarrow and the loot.
No arrests have been made.
