Al Ahly coach Pitso Mosimane is furious at his former club Mamelodi Sundowns but most of all, he’s fed up with the Downs supporters.
Speaking after his team lost 1-0 to Downs over the weekend in the CAF Champions League Group A tie, Mosimane accused Downs of playing dirty tricks on him everytime he comes to South Africa to play them.
“It’s sad that such a big team like them are playing dirty,” Mosimane said in the post-match press conference.
Mosimane’s anger did not surround his team’s defeat to Masandawana on Saturday but rather what happened before the match. Sundowns fans were at it again as they delayed the Red Devils team bus en-route to the FNB Stadium.
Sundowns have launched an investigation into the matter and claim the fans involved will be severely punished.
“Mamelodi Sundowns will take strong disciplinary action including preventing irresponsible supporters from attending future matches if the complaints by Al Ahly are factually justified,” the club said in a statement.
The 57-year-old added that he was going to reveal the “truth” about Sundowns in his upcoming tell-all book and documentary.
“There is always drama when I come here. I don’t want to talk a lot about Sundowns. I will tell you about what happened when we played Sundowns last week in Cairo.”
He further said there were many factors which led to a deterioration in relations between him and high ups within his former club but he doesn’t want to talk about them at the moment.
“I will talk in my book and in my documentary and you will get the shock of your life about what is happening,” Mosimane said.
“Even now, they’re still after me. They don’t want to leave me alone. I’ve moved on.”
He said they’ve got a good team and three coaches and they must move on.
“I’m gone. I’ve done my best, I’ve given you a great team. Why are you after me? What do you want to achieve?” the esteemed coach added.
