Podcast and Chill host Macgyver Mukwevho, better known as MacG, has lost his slot on DStv after a vulgar comment he made about Minnie Dlamini’s private parts in one of his podcast episodes.

The episode never aired on DStv — it was only posted on YouTube — but the backlash was enough for the pay-TV service to pull the show entirely.

DStv’s digital content partner, Leading Edge Growth, confirmed the move to TimesLIVE. The company’s CEO, Lufuno Maliavusa, said: “To keep our content slate dynamic and engaging, we will continue to make adjustments… Season one of Podcast and Chill and Awkward Dates are nearing their final episodes.”

MultiChoice, DStv’s parent company, stayed quiet on the details. They only said they had licensed a slate of podcasts from Leading Edge Growth, which is responsible for curating the line-up based on audience demand.

MacG doesn’t seem fazed by the drama. Reports say he’s “unmoved” and focusing on other ventures.

But Deputy Minister of Women, Youth and Persons with Disabilities, Mmapaseka Steve Letsike, wasn’t so chill. She slammed MacG’s remarks as “nauseating” and a violation of Dlamini’s rights.

Letsike wanted Parliament to take action — but that request was turned down. Committee chairperson Liezl van der Merwe said Dlamini hadn’t laid a formal complaint, and the committee didn’t want to set a precedent by acting on just one case.

MacG has since apologised in a later episode, saying: “I want to apologise… to all the female chillers, and women in general in SA. That was not the intention.”

He even invited Dlamini to come on the podcast and “squash it once and for all.”

But Dlamini is not backing down. She called the comments “vile, humiliating and inexcusable,” and said she was taking legal action to defend her dignity and stand up for women.
