South African musician Chomee has made a comeback ahead of the 2026 Fifa World Cup. Her new football anthem has sparked a debate online. Fans are fighting over the use of artificial intelligence in the latest music video.

The song is called TJOVITJO, which also has the title Bafana Is Back.

The energetic video celebrates South African football culture with vibrant dance scenes. The video features stadium-inspired visuals and choreography. This choreography reminds fans of the excitement of the 2010 World Cup era.

The visuals feature cheering crowds and football moments. The video also highlights the signature dance style of Chomee. But social media users quickly noticed that many scenes in the music video appeared to be created using artificial intelligence.

Some online users claimed that the crowd scenes and stadium shots looked like they were made with artificial intelligence. They say that even some of the dancers looked artificial. Others also criticised the vocals in the song and said they sounded artificial.

One user posted about the music video on the social media platform X.

The user said: “No ways, using AI vocals on your own song as a legendary artist is a bit diabolical. We all know Chomee doesn’t even sing like that.”

The new song has split the opinions of her fans online. Some fans appreciated the creative use of artificial intelligence technology. But other followers felt the legendary artist deserved a more authentic relaunch for her career.
