Boity welcomes cameras into the mansion she could lose

  • Leemark Financial Services is suing Boity in the High Court over R491,813 she allegedly still owes on the Centurion property.
  • The Top Billing episode aired on SABC3, with Boity showing presenter Fezile Mkhize around her grey Centurion home.

Boity Thulo walked presenter Fezile Mkhize through her R4.2-million Centurion mansion on SABC3.

Three weeks before the cameras arrived, a finance company had filed papers in the Johannesburg High Court asking for a judgment that could force the same home to be sold.

Leemark Financial Services is suing Boity over an outstanding balance on the property. She bought it as a birthday gift to herself in August 2021 and described the house at the time as a blessing from her ancestors.

Court documents show she paid R3,708,187 toward the purchase price but the remaining R491,813 allegedly went unpaid.

Leemark’s representative, Mark Lauth, said in an affidavit that Boity failed to file a notice to defend the lawsuit. If a default judgment is granted, the property could be attached and auctioned. Lauth confirmed no settlement talks have taken place.

The Sunday Times first reported the case on 10 May. Three days later, Top Billing dropped a teaser of Boity welcoming Mkhize inside.

The grey mansion featured a swimming pool, spacious bedrooms and bathrooms, elegant décor and stylish furniture. Boity appeared calm and confident throughout. Her mother made a brief appearance.

When approached for comment on the court case, Boity said: “They want to sell my house. You just ruined my day.”
