Freshman in the commercial Hip Hop industry Blxckie, also known as ‘Somnyama Yena Yedwa’, is giving his fans no sleep.
It has only been a few weeks since he released his debut album B4NOW (Before Now) on 21 May. That’s after releasing four hit singles including ‘Big Time Shlappa’ with LucasRaps.
And now he is back with the much anticipated music video of ‘Ye x4’ featuring Nasty C.
Unlike Chris Brown who said ‘Yeah x3’ during the days when he was still rising, Blxckie had to say yeah four times to stress everything is on track and ‘ye ye ye ye’ the chorus is also Blxckie’s favourite adlib.
Many fans who were looking forward to seeing Nasty C in the same frame with Blxckie are not disappointed. The music video, which was shot in a parking lot, shows the two rappers flexing in front of an expensive car.
Blxckie, who is now based in Johannesburg after leaving Durban before lockdown, used the music video to emphasise he is living the dream. But you won’t know that unless you watch the entire 3:11 minutes long music video.
He only wakes up from the dream of being in a music video with Nasty C at the very end of the song.
The video which premiered on Monday 14 June 2021 is sitting at over 160K views and climbing.
