Lesotho’s army had a surprise outing this weekend.
On Saturday Prime Minister Tom Thabane deployed troops in the streets to “restore order”, although there was not much happening on Maseru’s streets.
He accused law enforcement agencies of “undermining democracy”.
The army arrested the chief of police and his deputy, who are investigating Thabane for the murder of his first wife in 2017.
Lesotho is on 24-day lockdown. The country has no reported Covid-19 cases yet.
