The gold mosaic in front of the St Andrew Church in Italy is enough to sway anyone to capture the perfect shot.
This 19th Century building served as the perfect backdrop for a Canadian model who stripped down naked for a photoshoot.
But locals in the Italian city of Amalfi felt it was a step too far and the police were called onto the scene.
A British couple who organised the shoot had scheduled it for 7:30 am on Monday in the hopes nobody would see them, The Times reported.
To their surprise there were loads of locals walking about who couldn’t help passing comments on what they were seeing.
“These people are crazy,” an Amalfi woman can be heard saying on a video, released to local websites.
“She is almost naked outside the cathedral. I would expel them.”
When local authorities arrived at the scene they took in the three in question for identification.
“An investigation is under way into obscene acts in public and we have alerted a magistrate to take this forward,” a police official explained.
The officer added that the three “friends” were visiting Italy and called the incident a “stunt”.
“She was practically nude and they didn’t have a permit, which would not have been given anyway for that kind of thing,” the officer added.
“Locals were certainly shocked, since the cathedral is a symbol for us. Posing so nearly naked caused indignation. We’ve never seen anything like this before.”
