PICK OF THE SPORT: Dylan Bettencourt recommends you watch the Proteas take on India in the T20 World Cup final on Saturday.

The Proteas have made history by making it to their first-ever T20 World Cup final, but the job is not done as they look to go all the way.

Taking on India in the final on Saturday will be a mighty task, but the Proteas are out to prove a point.

For decades, the Proteas have been labelled as chokers, consistently falling at the crucial stages of any tournament.

Winning on Saturday would go a long way to earning the respect of their fans in South Africa.

The Proteas and India are unbeaten in the tournament hosted by the United States and the West Indies.

India go into the final as favourites. They had a great tournament and demolished England in the semifinal.

But the underdog tag is a good one to have in a final where the ball could swing either way.

The Proteas were ruthless with the ball in hand against Afghanistan and will need more of the same to stand a chance on Saturday.

The final is set to kick off at 4.30pm on Saturday, live on DStv channel 201.

➤ The Euro 2024 knockout stages get underway this weekend, and eight teams will progress to the next stage while the other eight make the short trip home.

In the first round of 16 games, Italy will take on Switzerland at 6pm on Saturday before hosts Germany will face Denmark at 9pm.

England will take centre stage on Saturday when they take on Slovakia at 6pm, before Spain faces Georgia at 9pm.

The round of 16 continues into next week. On Monday, France takes on Belgium at 6pm, and Portugal faces Slovenia at 9pm.

Tuesday is the last day of the round, as Romania faces the Netherlands at 6pm and Austria takes on Turkey at 9pm.

All fixtures will be live on DStv channel 203.

➤ Formula 1 is back for a second weekend, this time for the Austrian Grand Prix held at the Red Bull Ring.

Max Verstappen will be looking to replicate last week’s outing with another win in what is often considered a “home” race for Red Bull.

Lando Norris and the McLaren team will hope their car can outperform Red Bull’s on a very tricky track.

The race will be live from 3pm on Sunday on DStv channel 215.
