Gospel artist, presenter and businesswoman Dr. Winnie Mashaba was “blessed” with a newborn on Sunday.

“I was blessed with a gorgeous baby girl. Oh Lord I thank you”.

The multi-award winning songstress from Ga-Phasha in Limpopo, publicly announced her pregnancy last year on her social media. This was followed by updates accompanied by professional photo-shoot pictures.

Winnie had a hard time bearing children having reportedly experienced two miscarriages.

“Thanks to all who wished me well during my pregnancy,” announced Winnie on Facebook, who had previously said she has been called names for not bearing children for her husband Mokgogo Makgopa whom she met 17 years ago.

Even though she is happy to share the news of her new “bundle of joy”, Winnie was angry at the media for being quick to report about her pregnancy.

“They are saying they have deadlines when they want to write about the pregnancy, but I have an album and no one had a deadline for writing about it. Joh! This world,” wrote Winnie on Facebook.

Winnie, who took home the award for Best Traditional Gospel Video at the 2021 Eminent Music Video Awards in December, with the song “Ga a feli Maatla”, had released her 19th project since 2000, titled Moporofeta Jeremiah early last year.

Meanwhile fans who congratulated her on the post are still yet to see a picture of the infant.
