One of the Umkhonto Wesizwe (MK) party’s new MPs sworn in this week is reportedly former president Jacob Zuma’s traditional healer.
Delisile Ntshaba, the new MP, is “a leader of a traditional healers’ organisation that supported the MK party along with churches, traditional leaders and artists,” a source said. “The MK party has rewarded all those organisations and people as they showed support during difficult times.”
Ntshaba could not be reached for comment and MK party KZN spokesperson Vincent Mdunge said he would have to check whether she is indeed a healer.
“I can’t confirm or deny whether she is a traditional healer,” he said, adding that “the issue of traditional healers and their clients is a private matter”.
“You know, as black people, we do have our personal traditional healers, which is a normal African practice,” said Mdunge.
MK party members were sworn into parliament on Tuesday after boycotting the first session, at a ceremony presided over by Chief Justice Raymond Zondo.
