Jacob Zuma and the Deputy Chief Justice Raymond Zondo might be heading for another legal clash.
This comes after Zondo threw the ex-president’s application for his recusal as the chairperson of the Zondo commission out the window on Thursday.
Infuriated, Zuma and his legal team led by Advocate Muzi Sikhakhane stormed out of the commission’s building without saying goodbye, leaving Zondo equally enraged.
After Zondo delivered his verdict, Sikhakhane did not hesitate to say they would take it on review.
He also told Zondo they would report him to the Judicial Services Commission for being, “A judge in the dispute that involves yourself.”
Zuma’s instructing attorney Eric Mabuza denied the former president illegally left the commission.
“I disagree (that they are in breach of the law and that Zuma committed an offence). We asked to be excused,” he said.
