- Kuhle Qomiyana started Quantum Transmission only three months ago and says big, older companies make it hard for newcomers to enter the market.
- He works alone with little money, dreaming of hiring people from his community as he builds a supplier of fast, reliable transmission and industrial power products.
Kuhle Qomiyana is fighting to grow a young business in an industry that has been controlled by the same companies for years.
His company, Quantum Transmission, is only three months old, but he is already dealing with challenges that would push many people away.
Most of the companies he competes with know each other and trade with each other. They have been in the market for years and rarely give new businesses a chance. But Kuhle saw an opportunity.
He says many local industries struggle to find fast, reliable and affordable suppliers. Prices are high and good local options are hard to find. Kuhle decided he would step in and fill that gap.

Money is tight and he does not have employees yet. He often cannot move as quickly as he wants because the business is still young. The slow moments hit hard, but he keeps going. He works late, learns every day and gets help with sales when he needs it.
Kuhle dreams of the day Quantum Transmission will hire people from his community. He believes a business should not only feed the owner, but help families and bring hope to people who need it.
He says anyone can start a business. You do not need big money. You can start small by advertising your service and learning from books, podcasts and people who share their stories.
Quantum Transmission supplies high end wireless transmission and industrial power products. Kuhle works with leading manufacturers to keep global standards and wants to help push South African industry into the future.
