A 26-year-old lesbian woman from Ngqeleni in the Eastern Cape wants her rapist to rot in jail.
The man raped her after tricking her at a tavern.
She had gone outside to relieve herself when she saw him on a veranda. He called her over.
The man asked her to call a girl for him. He said he wanted her to call the girl for him.
“He suggested that we go and speak outside the tavern’s yard so that the girl won’t see that we are talking about her.”
She didn’t suspect anything. They used separate gates to meet outside.
“When I came outside he was standing next to his vehicle. As I was coming closer he got inside the car,” she said.
She asked why he was inside the car. He asked her to get inside.
“As soon as I got inside the car he locked the doors. I asked what he was doing and he said he was joking,” she said.
They got out of the car. The man acted like he was pointing out the woman he wanted.
“I tried to look for the woman. While I was focusing on that he came from behind, grabbed me and dragged me into a nearby bush,” she said.
He raped her from the back.
“After he had done it I left. I couldn’t scream. I felt powerless,” she said.
When she got back inside the tavern her friends asked where she was. She lied and said she was busy with another girl.
When she got home she told her family what happened. They went to the police station to open a case.
“I want him to rot in jail so that he doesn’t rape other people. He is dangerous,” she said. “I went to him because he’s an old person. That’s why I agreed when he said he wanted to send me to ask a woman for him.”
Eastern Cape police spokesperson Captain Welile Matyolo said a 41-year-old man from Ntshilini was arrested.
He appeared before the Ngqeleni Magistrate Court. His case was postponed to 27 October 2025 for a bail application.
