How do you apply for the R350-per-month Covid-19 grants for unemployed people?
The SA Social Security Agency (Sassa) has tested its system of registration for the grants via WhatsApp.
About 6 million unemployed are expected to qualify for the grants, which are worth R2,100 over six months and due to start in early May.
People without smartphones can apply using a USSID code to the same number, to be announced.
