What’s left to say? Blxckie is a Goat

After releasing the 20 track long extended deluxe edition of his debut album B4 Now (the original had 12 songs) Blxckie dropped the much anticipated visuals for his spiritual Trap Soul single titled “David” on Thursday evening.

Blxckie also made an appearance on the Skhanda World album on a song titled “Shoda Ngami” by the up and coming Loki.

He has been steadily dropping new music every week since B4 Now, which debuted at number one on the iTunes albums chart in May 2021.

King “David”, from the Bible, is the inspiration behind the 21-year-old’s masterpiece. In it he compares himself to the ancient King of the Hebrew Bible, who started as a young shepherd and became a well-known musician before killing the giant Goliath, who was the champion of the Philistines.

“Not a n** you can play with, Keep a stone on me like David,” raps Blxckie.

While the story of King David is slowly aligning with the Durban rapper’s achievements, on the music video a bakkie travelling at an average speed on a long rural gravel road with no houses – carries a black goat with white dots at the back of the vehicle. This changes after a few seconds into Blxckie rapping the first verse of one of the most loved songs from his album.

‘Goat’ is a popular word among Hip Hop artists and fans used to compliment someone who is the best at what he does.

After the success of his first album, the rapper also announced a ‘B4 Now Tour’ to further promote his album, starting with a visit to his home city Durban on 26 November 2021.

“I want those that have believed in me before now to be proud. Let’s make Africa Rise,” the rapper had said after releasing his album early this year.
