It’s all there! Baby formula, baby powder, Purity baby food, and a stack of other baby products. The only thing that was missing were the ten babies!
The story of Gosiame Thamara Sithole, who last week claimed to have given birth to 10 babies, captured the attention of the entire world – but since then questions surrounding the birth have been mounting.
On Tuesday, the supposed father of the children stated publicly that there are no babies, and now the case seems to be beyond all credibility.
The evidence that Sithole gave birth to 10 children is diminishing by the day; no hospital has confirmed the births, there are no verified pictures of the babies, and now even the father has rubbished the story.
Every day, there seems to be a new development which emerges concerning the Tembisa 10, but they invariably go unverified.
Over the weekend, reports emerged that the father, Teboho Tsotetsi, reported the mother missing at the Tembisa police station. However, Tembisa police spokesperson Captain Manyadza Ralidhivha told Scrolla.Africa no such case was registered.
The Gauteng Department of Health said in a statement they conducted a thorough check with all hospitals in the province but none of the hospitals, public or private, have any records of a delivery of decuplets within their facilities.
A friend close to the family said he was convinced there were babies somewhere.
“But I don’t believe it anymore,” he said.
Earlier on Tuesday, Dr Mathabo Mathebula, CEO of the Steve Biko Academic Hospital, spoke to Clement Manyethela on Radio 702. She said the mother came to the hospital on Saturday claiming that she gave birth to 10 babies at Louis Pasteur Private Hospital but a hospital spokesperson told Clement that there have been no records of the woman being admitted.
So perhaps the most important of the many questions which remain unanswered is: Did Pretoria News give birth to a fake scoop?
