Vusi Nova might have changed his name – again – but he’s still bringing along his signature deep vocal tunes on his first Amapiano single, titled “Shuku Shuku”.
The track has been released under his new stage name Snova “The Black Panther”.
It is not the first time the artist has changed his stage name, previously evolving from Vusi Nongxa to his real last name, Vusi Nova.
Known for his deep R&B melodies, the “Ndikuthandile” and “Thandiwe” hit maker jumped on the new Amapiano wave.
Snova’s move follows rapper Sizwe Alakine, formerly known as Reason, who changed his stage name before dropping two new Amapiano songs.
If you are a big fan of Vusi Nova, you are almost certainly going to find Snova appealing, particularly seeing as his popular Amapiano instrumentals are produced by Theology.
“Shuku Shuku” was released on 18 November under entertainment industry veteran Lance Stehr’s record label Muthaland Entertainment.
Even though snippets of the song were trending on social media, the song is yet to blow up on music platforms such as YouTube, where it has received less than 5,000 views after three days.
Was this a bad move for the 37-year-old, who has previously changed his name successfully?
It is still too soon to tell. But so far Snova has only managed to get just under 90 subscribers on his recently created “Snova” YouTube account.
