  • He says many good athletes leave the sport and wants to fix that by building a stronger system.

Chris White, a well-known coach from KwaZulu-Natal, wants to become the new president of KwaZulu-Natal Athletics.

He will run against the current president, Steve Mkasi, who wants to stay in the job, and deputy president Mandla Mngomezulu, who also wants the top spot.

White has been coaching for over 20 years. He has helped young athletes and trained others who competed in big international events. Many people respect him for always putting athletes first.

He started a training group called Elite Performance Group and has been working in South African athletics since 2005.

He studied at Da Vinci University and got a Master’s degree in how to use new ideas in coaching. He also trained with the South African Sports Confederation and Olympic Committee. Right now, he helps decide how to improve athletics in the country as part of a national team.

White is one of the few coaches in South Africa with international certificates in strength and conditioning. He also teaches other coaches across the country.

He helps the KwaZulu-Natal Sports Confederation train coaches and come up with plans to keep athletes in the sport.

White says KwaZulu-Natal has many talented young athletes but needs to do more to support them.

“Our province has a lot of talent. But we need better coaching, more support, and a proper system to help athletes stay in the sport. If we work together, we can lead the way,” he said.

The election will be tough, as all three men have strong experience. But White believes his plan will make a big difference.
