- Uzalo actor Glen Gabela is in a fight with stepdaughter who calls him a liar and a deadbeat father.
- The family feud comes as Gabela struggles with heart attack, depression and no acting work since 2018.
Uzalo actor Glen Gabela is caught up in a family fight with his stepdaughter Nonhlanhla Nsele.
Nsele went on social media and called Gabela a liar and a deadbeat father. She said he was never there for her late mother and is only speaking now that she has died.
“I hate how Glen is spreading lies about my mother. He never supported us. My mother built a house for us, not him. Even after her passing, he stayed away,” she said.
She added that she will share more details on a podcast soon.
Gabela has denied the claims. Speaking to Sunday World, he said Nsele’s words are not true.
“She was 14 when I met her. Her real father had died, so I took her in as my own. I always looked after my wife and the children when I had money. I was never absent in their lives,” he said.
The actor said he is hurt by her attacks and doesn’t know why she is saying these things. He also said he has been trying to contact her but has not been able to.
“I even tried reaching her on social media, but she ignored me. If she wants to talk about me on a podcast, I also want to be there so she can say it to my face,” he said.
This family fight comes as Gabela is going through tough times. He recently said he had a heart attack caused by stress and depression.
“I was in hospital for three weeks. I haven’t had any acting jobs since 2018 when I left Uzalo. Life has been very hard, and I can’t even take care of myself,” he said.
The 14-year-old Nsele met Gabela when her real father died, and he became her stepfather. But their relationship has clearly broken down since her mother’s death.
