Every dog has its day. And on Thursday, 28 April, amapiano star DJ Uncle Waffles had her name dragged all over social media following rumours of her being “transgender” and being part of the “LGBTQ” community.
The comments about Uncle Waffles were accompanied by pictures of her with some members of the LGBTQ community, which made Uncle Waffles feel that she has to prove her gender to the public.
“Real question. What do these pictures prove? Instead you’re trying to bring down people who have nothing to do with this. I now have to prove my gender based off of my physique and based off a rumour? You guys are so weird,” tweeted Uncle Waffles, adding that she has no problem with the LGBTQ members.
“You can’t always have something to say. I’m a proud ally of the trans community, always have been. Y’all, without fail will always have something to say.”
Uncle Waffles, who recently celebrated one million Instagram followers, had trended for good news after her representatives shared that she will be signing with OVO Sound, rapper Drake’s record label last week, but this week things took a different turn.
“Let’s also remember that just cause someone is a public figure doesn’t make them your friend,” she said.
