Popular Ukhozi FM presenter Khathide “Tshathugodo” Ngobe is over the moon to have landed another TV presenting gig.

Alongside radio personality and presenter on Moja Love Ntombi Mzolo, Ngobe will present a maskandi show called Yash’Ingoma on Mzansi Magic at 5pm on Sundays.

Last year he endured a torrid period in his broadcasting career after he was suspended for four months by the SABC for misconduct.

After getting cast into the wilderness for accusing Ukhozi FM’s Song of the Year of being corrupt, many began to write his career obituary.

But after learning his lesson the hard way, Ngobe bounced emphatically by landing the much-coveted drive time show on the biggest radio station in the continent.

“God works in miraculous ways. Maskandi enthusiasts must brace themselves for a breathtaking show from January 15,” Ngobe said about his upcoming gig.

“Much as we will feature big names in the industry, we will offer a platform to newbies in the game. They hardly get recognition and a chance to showcase their talent. We aim to make a mark and difference by driving this show.”

Ntombi, a former member of maskandi family group Amaponi, said viewers can expect to see live performances by the likes of her father Ihhashi Elimhlophe, Inkosi Yamagcokama, Khuzani, Sminofu and many more.

Ngobe endeared himself to the Isizulu radio station while presenting a popular maskandi show titled Sgiya Ngengoma which earned him multiple awards.

That radio show saw him being approached to co-present with Teboho Mahlalela on the Roots, a traditional music show on SABC 1.

The talented presenter from Nongoma in northern KZN is also versatile, having scored cameo roles acting on e-tv’s Imbewu: The Seed and Durban Gen.
