- Actress Sonia Mbele’s son was charged with raping his girlfriend twice in December at his home.
- The victim says she told him to stop and cried but he continued and even recorded the assault.
The son of well-known actress Sonia Mbele appeared in the Randburg Magistrate’s Court for allegedly raping his girlfriend.
Donell Mbele, 23, faces two rape charges after his girlfriend Tamia Carvalho said he attacked her in December.
Carvalho posted on Instagram that the rapes happened at Donell’s home on 14 and 15 December.
“I was violated by someone I thought I could trust. Someone I held close to my heart. I never thought this could happen to me and was very devastated when it did,” she wrote.
She said she first agreed to sex but then changed her mind. “I asked him to stop and he didn’t. I repeated myself multiple times and even started crying because he wouldn’t stop,” she said.
“The first time it happened was around 10pm on the 14th, and I remember another incident where he just got on top of me, pinned me down and forced himself on me. I told him to get off me, and he refused and instead decided to record everything.”
Carvalho shared messages where Donell seemed to admit what he did: “I regret hurting you so much. I couldn’t help myself, I am sorry. You felt so good. So wet and warm. I’m sorry,” he wrote.
Donell received a ball of R1,000. The case was also postponed to 10 February for more investigations.
