Idols SA judge and actor Somizi Mhlongo has reportedly joined hands with his estranged husband Mohale Motaung to sue television producer Legend Manqele for R1.5 million. They claim this is for the unpaid fee for broadcasting rights to their wedding ceremony.

In 2019, Somizi and Mohale, who separated in August 2021, sold broadcasting rights to the wedding special to Legend’s Bar Leader TV, reported Sunday World.

The broadcasting rights included both the traditional wedding, which took place in September 2019, and the glamorous white wedding of the year in 2020. Both aired on Showmax under the title Somizi and Mohale: The Union, after the last ceremony, which was also filmed by Legend’s company.

Two years after the wedding was premiered on the streaming platform Bar Leader TV, the couple, who are going through a divorce, still have not been paid, according to a letter which was seen by Sunday World.

Meanwhile, the much-anticipated season five of Somizi’s reality television show, Living the Dream with Somizi, will premiere on Showmax on 4 May with a new producer, Teddy Geldart of the Dopezuluboi Productions.

When the show was still on DStv’s Mzansi Magic channel, it was also produced by Legend.
