  • eNCA wrongly said Kelly Khumalo had died when it was singer Winnie Khumalo who passed away.
  • Kelly Khumalo hit back at the TV channel for upsetting her children and loved ones with a false death report.

TV news channel eNCA on Tuesday mistakenly reported that singer Kelly Khumalo had died, when it was singer Winnie Khumalo who had passed away after an illness.

The error angered Kelly Khumalo, who took to Instagram to share her frustration.

“This is very reckless, ignorant and disrespectful — not only to me but to those who love and care about me, especially my kids,” she wrote, demanding respect.

Many fans and celebrities backed Kelly and criticised eNCA for the mistake.

eNCA newsreader Shahan Ramkissoon later apologised on air, clarifying that it was Winnie Khumalo, aged 51, who had died, not Kelly.

“It was an honest mistake. I corrected myself and apologised,” Ramkissoon wrote on X.

Singer Winnie Khumalo passed away at her home at the age of 51.

She had been diagnosed with asthma two months ago. She also had diabetes and other health complications.
