It was supposed to be a routine traffic stop near Hartbeespoort, but things got out of hand quickly.
A traffic cop was filmed slapping the owner of a Bentley.
A video shared by Nomsa Maseko on Twitter shows the cop opening the car and slapping the man and shouting: “Who are you calling?” in Zulu. Later, the cop is overheard saying: “You son of a b*tch, go, go!”
The Gauteng Traffic Department confirmed the incident on Twitter and have urged the victims to open a case of assault at their nearest police station.
Minister of Transport, Fikile Mbalula responded to the incident saying he would like more details on the matter to further investigate the issue.
