Hollywood celebrity divorces have their dirty moments – but Johnny Depp’s claim that Amber Heard crapped in his bed takes the, er, cake.
The no-holds-barred legal battle between the two stars being waged in a courtroom in Virginia, USA, reached a new low when Depp alleged that Heard smeared their bed with excrement as revenge for him leaving their penthouse.
Depp is suing his ex-wife for defamation for $50 million in damages.
She wrote an op-ed in the Washington Post newspaper in 2018 in which she described surviving domestic violence – without mentioning Depp by name.
Heard is counter-suing for $100 million and claims she was only ever violent with Depp in self-defence.
After breaking up with Depp, Heard dated Elon Musk, who made the headlines this week with his seemingly successful bid to buy Twitter. It was reported that Musk will not be testifying at the trial.
However, the item of news that has gone viral is Depp’s claim that his housekeeper showed him a photo of his bed covered in human faecal matter – as a warning not to come home.
“My initial response was, I mean, I laughed. It was so outside, it was so bizarre and so grotesque that I could only laugh. So, I did not go down there that day.”
Social media went into a frenzy, showing Heard allegedly pooping in every place imaginable that isn’t a toilet.
Depp said that when they spoke about it, Heard blamed the crap on the dogs.
“The dogs are teacup Yorkies. They weigh about four pounds each,” Depp told the court.
“It was clear that it did not come from a dog, it just didn’t.”
