Ivan Toney led Brentford to their first Premier League win in six games while Arsenal thumped Crystal Palace 5-0 in Saturday’s action.
Their star striker’s return from an eight-month ban was exactly what the Bees needed to get back to winning ways as Toney continued from where he left off, with no signs of any rustiness.
The Englishman was out of action after being suspended in May for 232 breaches of betting rules. His moment came 19 minutes into his first game back, though, as he netted sharply before completing a full 90 minutes on the pitch.
Ben Mee got the second for Brentford as Danilo and Chris Wood got the goals that kept opponents Nottingham Forest in the game until the very end.
Neil Maupay netted home the winner, though, as Brentford climbed above Forest into 14th place on the table.
In the other game, Arsenal ran riot against Crystal Palace to revitalise their title aspirations.
Their 5-0 win seen them go level on points with Manchester City and Aston Villa and just two behind leaders Liverpool.
The Reds take on Bournemouth on Sunday after Sheffield host West Ham United in the earlier game.
