Swallows FC coach Brandon Truter reckons the 2-1 loss to TS Galaxy is a good omen for his team.
Following the Swallows’ loss, Mamelodi Sundowns is the only team in the DStv Premiership to taste defeat this campaign.
It’s been almost a year since The Birds last lost a game, and ultimately their 25-game unbeaten run came to an abrupt halt.
“Yeah, it could be a good omen. I mean, it’s almost exactly a year since we last lost a game,” said Truter.
“We look to keep good form in our next games against TTM [Tshakhuma Tsha Madzivhandila], but I am really proud of the performance from the boys. I just need to emphasise that because they really played well and I can’t fault them.”
The two-time coach-of-the-month winner (in December and January) says he thinks his players will now play without fear of losing their next game.
Truter says they will be looking for vengeance against the Limpopo-based outfit, who knocked them out of the Nedbank Cup. It was decided by a 4-3 loss on penalties, after a 2-all draw in 120 minutes of football.
Since TTM brought in new chairman Dr Abram Sello, things seemed to be going their way and results have been coming.
Swallows and TTM will battle it out on Sunday afternoon at the Dobsonville Stadium in Soweto.
Meanwhile, goals were a scarce commodity in the Wednesday mid-week games in the DStv Premiership.
Chippa United, who eliminated Cape Town City in the Nedbank Cup last Sunday, played out to an entertaining goalless draw at the Sisa Dukashe stadium.
In a more entertaining clash, Lamontville Golden Arrows were also held to a goalless stalemate by Baroka FC – despite there being a lot of action and intensity in the game.
