Mamelodi Sundowns have confirmed five friendly match opponents for their pre-season tour of Austria.
The Brazilians have ended their camp in Gqeberha and left for Austria, where they will kick off their schedule against German third-tier side SV Sandhausen at Stadion Jenbach on Tuesday.
They will then clash with Ukrainian giants Dynamo Kyiv the following day at a venue to be decided.
After five days without being involved in any match, the Brazilians will continue with their schedule against Championship outfit Cardiff City at Waldstadion Westendorf.
Next will be a date with Qatari side Al Arabi SC on 26 July before wrapping up with Neymar’s Al Hilal SC on the same day.
“This time, after considering different countries and continents, the team has opted for Austria, where they will face some top European sides,” Sundowns president Tlhopie Motsepe said.
“We trust that preparations will be in-depth and vigorous as they were in the Netherlands last year.
“The camp in Austria will also assist with the preparations for the 2025 Fifa Club World Cup.”
They were in the Netherlands last year, where they faced Belgian side Gent and Dutch teams NAC Breda, Sparta Rotterdam, and Go Ahead Eagles.
The Brazilians will also use the Austria tour to get ready for another shot at the CAF Champions League, which they have been trying to win since 2016.
They are also trying to correct their flaws, which saw them fail to win the MTN8 and Nedbank Cup after losing the finals to Orlando Pirates.
