The cold front has lashed the Cape, with gale force winds whipping the sea across the streets of Cape Town.
The SA Weather Service issued snow and “damaging wind” warnings for the Western and Northern Cape.
Residents say it has been one of the worst storms in memory, with power cuts in places across the Western Cape.
