Soweto’s amapiano “Superman”, DJ Stokie, has finally released the music video for “Soke S’bone”, the first single from his 2021 four-song project titled Soke S’bone EP.
The song features big names in the amapiano genre, including Sir Trill and Loxion Deep, both artists with an impressive music catalogue. And as if those two names were not enough, DJ Stokie also brought in two talented upcoming singers: Murumba Pitch and Nobantu Vilakazi.
Vilakazi does not in fact utter a single word in the song, only dropping in amazing amapiano ad-libs – a perfect feature to close off the piano banger.
DJ Stokie is regularly named in numerous interviews by respected artists in the music genre, such as DJ Kabza De Small and Njelic, as one of the people who shaped the piano sound. Given that the accomplished artist made the genre what it is today, it comes as no surprise that DJ Stokie’s first hit is titled “Superman”.
Meanwhile, the “Soke S’bone” music video is sitting humbly at 40,000 views after it premiered on Wednesday, 26 January on YouTube.
