Manchester City’s Premier League title challenge hit a fresh stumbling block as Dominic Solanke’s acrobatic strike salvaged a 2-2 draw for struggling Tottenham Hotspur on Sunday.
The Citizens led 2-0 at half-time, thanks to goals from Rayan Cherki and Antoine Semenyo, but Solanke’s double in the second half turned the game on its head.
After Arsenal’s 4-0 thumping of Leeds United on Saturday, Pep Guardiola’s side are now six points off the leaders.
Aston Villa’s title hopes took a hit too, with Unai Emery’s side suffering a 1-0 defeat at home to ten-man Brentford. They now find themselves seven points off the summit..
Meanwhile, Manchester United celebrated a third consecutive win under Michael Carrick, with Benjamin Sesko scoring the winner in a 3-2 victory over Fulham.
Goals from Casemiro and Matheus Cunha had put United in command, but Fulham fought back late on only for Sesko to seal the win deep in stoppage time.
The Red Devils are back in the top four and unbeaten in their last seven Premier League matches.
Liverpool and Chelsea were victorious this weekend as well, with the Reds picking up a dominant 4-1 win over Newcastle while the Blues came back from 2-0 down to beat West Ham 3-2.
