With the festive season upon us, the Premier League campaign is well and truly heating up. Let’s take a look at what this weekend delivered.
The biggest story was Mohamed Salah’s explosive post-match rant following Liverpool’s 3-3 draw away to Leeds United.
The Egyptian accused members of the Reds’ hierarchy of throwing him “under the bus” and claimed that his relationship with manager Arne Slot had broken down.
Salah, who has been benched for the past three games, hinted that next weekend’s match against Brighton might be his last at Anfield, with rumours already circulating about potential interest from Saudi Arabia.
Slot’s job is already on shaky ground, with Liverpool’s dismal run of just two wins in 10 league games showing no signs of improvement.
Salah’s outburst only added to the speculation surrounding his future, leaving Slot with another major problem to solve.
Meanwhile, Arsenal’s dip on the road continued, with their 18-match unbeaten run coming to an end at the hands of Aston Villa.
The Gunners have managed just two points from three away games in the league now, with Manchester City and Villa both closing in on the leaders.
Everton on the other hand, are enjoying a resurgence, with a 3-0 win over Nottingham Forest propelling them up into sixth place.
The Toffees are now within two points of the top four, with manager David Moyes eyeing a return to European competition for the first time in seven years.
On Monday, Manchester United travel to Wolves before all eyes turn to Uefa Champions League action in midweek.
